Autopsy Brain Removal using Virtual Reality Simulation

Concept

This VR simulation will train users in a key step of opening the cranium with an oscillating saw during autopsy brain removal procedure, within a virtual 3D environment where they can interact with 3D models from the perspective of an autopsy prosector. It is intended to teach autopsy assistants and residents how to use the saw with correct hand positioning in regards to the plane, angle, and depth of the cut to remove the brain without damages.

Media

Artec Studio, Zbrush, Cinema 4D and Unity 3D

Feedback Test

The VR simulation will provide feedback, suggesting changes to angulation and depth of cut on the cranium to improve outcomes.
